I tried to eat less by eating slower and not eating till I was full - or keep to a plate per meal especially for dinner. And I started eating fruits for snacking instead. Also got into drinking lemon water each day and I think that helped alot too. Citrus is great for dieting. Look it up.
As for exercising, I worked out twice a week consistently. And I kept track of my fitness by recording my progress and the exercises I did in each session. It’s great to see your fitness improving with numbers and such.
Personally, my view about dieting is balance. Like if you eat something unhealthy, eat something healthy to compensate lol. And with exercise, don’t bother weighing yourself every week - it’s misleading to judge your progress on that. When exercising, focus on your fitness rather than calorie or fat burning. Because fitness is going to improve your metabolism, and your metabolism is what’s going to keep you sexy in the long run.
